A Few Things You May Want To Know Before Joining Us
Meet Our Association Members - Black Wallets Matter Town Hall Meeting
Why am I being asked to join an association?
Goal #1 — to become the one organization African Americans and their supporters can make contributions to and trust that it’s being used for the benefit of our people.
Goal #2 — to unite members of the Black community that are sick and tired of all the talking and protesting, and are ready to take action. The Association will provide a platform for members to organize, voice their concerns, and create action plans that will be executed in a way that brings about real change.
Goal #3 — to get 1 million association members within the next 3-5 years so we can use our Black Wallets (collective financial power) to gain political influence in Washington DC and change the state of affairs in the Black community.
What is a founding member?
Since this is truly the start of something new and we need to develop assets and build infrastructure, founding members will be brothers and sisters who understand how bad the current state of affairs are in the Black Community, and also understand it will take an investment of time and capital to turn things around.
The first 2000 people to join Black Wallets Matter will be commemorated as founding members. Founding members will be honored for their faith and participation. They will receive awards denoting their contribution to rebuilding Black America at annual appreciation banquets and ceremonies.
The distinction and accolades they receive will transfer to their children and grandchildren. They will hold their heads with pride knowing their father, mother, grandfather or grandmother was a founding member of the new black legacy.
I’m serious about this — this movement will have that kind of impact on our people!
How do I know where my money is going?
The association will be an organizational and governing body for all of our business and social activities so we will need secure communications channels and tools that allow our members to voice their opinions, draft up action plans, and form committees for execution of those plans. A few tools we anticipate using include: online forums, social media platforms, webinars, email, telephone, physical mail, surveys, and polls.
For accountability and to document the organizations progress, we post financial reports in the members area and hold weekly town hall meetings on a conference call line.
The topics we discuss are focused on finding solutions to the issues of poverty, unemployment, youth violence, financial literacy, business creation, and racial police brutality affecting the Black Community.
Specifically, your association membership dues will be used to do the following:
- Hire staff to manage association (including writers for newsletter, website, and social media)
- Hire administrator to keep all tasks and objectives organized
- Hire web designer and developer for our technical projects
- Marketing to spread awareness of The Black Wallets Movement and grow association membership base
- Arranging membership benefit packages
- Developing secure channels for member-only communications
- Begin researching financial requirements to retain law firms and lobbyists for advocacy
- Begin researching financial requirements for developing community resource centers that offer child care, educational and job training/placement programs.
What benefits do I get with my membership?
Member benefits packages will include:
- free investment and financial literacy courses
- free business and marketing courses
- free credit repair and/or counseling
- discounts on shopping at major retailers like Walmart, Target, Sears, Best Buy, etc
- discount travel and vacation packages
- discount tickets to sporting events, parties, festivals and concerts and shows
- discounts on insurance (auto, home, medical, dental, etc)
- road side assistance
- and more
What is your refund policy and can I cancel at any time?
But if for any reason you’re not happy with the progress we’re making, you can cancel your membership and get a full refund for up to 90 days.
That means if we are 3 months down the road and you’re not feeling it, you can get every penny you contributed back. If we are 6 months in, you can get the last 3 months of your membership dues back.
Once you become a founding member, you will see a link to manage your subscription in your member dashboard. You can click the “CANCEL” button at any time.
Personally, I can’t think of any stronger guarantee to protect your investment of time, money and faith in this movement.
Why are you charging to help Black people?
The Black Community has been waiting for help from rich Black celebrities for years — and if you haven’t figured it out by now — it ain’t coming!
So it’s time for the rest of us to help ourselves by combining our small amounts until they become large enough amounts to pay for the initiatives and services we need to help Black people.
What qualifies you to lead this movement?
I know what it’s like to be racially profiled in your own neighborhood and have police put a gun in your face because you “fit the description”, when all you were doing was going to the store for your mother.
I remember when we had to put water in our cereal because there was no milk. When we had to use the stove to heat the house. When we had to eat “wish sandwiches” — which were just 2 pieces of bread with mayo between them — because we “wished” we had some bologna or cheese. But because of my mother’s love and the strength of our Black family unit, I didn’t know we were poor.
I have been a Black man for 42 years and know all the challenges that are attached to it, but I wear my Black manhood as a badge of honor.
I guess I missed school that day when they said I was supposed to be ashamed of it.
I guess I was playing my rap music too loud when they were telling me I was supposed to let setbacks hold me back for all my life.
And I guess the email they sent out, saying there was a limit to how high I could climb and how much I could achieve, went to my spam folder — because I never got that memo.
So despite my challenges, I come to you today as an entrepreneur and business owner of more than 20 years. I have bootstrapped all my businesses, meaning I have started with nothing and tried to turn it into something. Some have been wildly successful, others abject failures. But from my experiences, one of the most important things I have learned is that success leaves clues.
If you want to do something you have never done before, you don’t need to reinvent the wheel. You can look at someone that is achieving the success you desire and model them. Meaning, you can learn from their mistakes to avoid pitfalls and incorporate the successful components of their system into your own, which increases your odds of success.
That is exactly what I have done with The Financial Blueprint To Help Black America Save Itself. As much as I would love a boost my ego and tell you I’m a genius, nothing in the plan is new or revolutionary. All the business models I propose are in use by successful companies and all the steps for social activism have been successfully used by other ethnic groups and organizations.
As a people, we need organization, commerce, and political influence. So all I did was study what strategies were already working, then reconfigured them in a way that could be implemented by the Black Community. We should all be excited because this stuff has already been proven to work!
And the great news is — this plan doesn’t require our people to make radical changes in their behavior — because we all know that idea doesn’t work. So this plan uses our existing consumer behavior, combined with our current attitudes about the social injustices in this country, as a springboard to launch into action and finally do something that will bring about real and lasting change in the Black Community.
So if you like the sound of that idea, then please come aboard because Black America needs your help and I can’t do it alone!
