Progress Report for June 2017

Black Wallets Matter went live in March 2017. Since inception, this organization has taken in a total of $2545 from 130 members. I have subtracted my family and friends (about 20 members) to avoid fudging the numbers. As you can see from the graph below, our numbers have grown each month since April.

This report shows the organization has collected $790 in membership dues in June 2017. This is the actual amount collected after refunds, cancellations, and declined credit cards. It is not my intention to embarrass anyone, but let’s just say: even though people have signed up to be members, we aren’t always able to collect their dues each month.

This report shows the organization has spent $3604.32 on Facebook advertising in June 2017 for 34 campaigns. As you can see the revenue from membership dues does not cover the cost of marketing, not to mention overhead to operate and maintain the organization’s functions (toll-free phone line/bill, web hosting, software licenses, etc). I cover the shortfall every month out of my own pocket.

The reason we are spending this amount each month on marketing is because we need to reach more of our like minded brothers and sisters. The cheapest and most efficient way to do that is via social media. It’s how many of you have first learned about Black Wallets Matter.

The marketing is working. If you look at the numbers, we are getting tremendous reach (into the millions), but the reason we do not have more members is because we are talking about taking responsibility for our situation and actually doing something about it.

We all know most of our brothers and sisters dont wanna hear anything about taking responsibility. They love their role as the victim. And even if they will talk about uniting, pooling our resources, etc… very few will actually “do it”.

They would rather argue about religion, politics, the white man, the black man, the black woman, etc. I guess they weren’t lying when they said, “the truth hurts”.

We have about 5000 people on the email list so we should be able to convert a few more of them into members. But for the most part, it looks like we will have to continue sifting through a lot more black people to find the like-minded brothers and sisters who are ready to take action.

I love you all for believing in my vision and coming aboard to take this journey with me. I promise you… we will get there soon!

Peace,

Brother Lou
